Week of September 3rd

In Life Science, we made observations on specimens. We had to identify two things that we saw, such as color, shape, spots, etc. Some specimen examples are Sea Cucumber, Pig Embryo, Frog, and Starfish. Later we reviewed our observations with the class.

In Language Arts, we did book speed dating! First, we split the desks into pods. We were then given a stack of books. Then we picked out a book and gave it a first impression rating based on its cover and title. We read a little bit of the books and then rated how much we liked them. In the end, we chose whether we liked the book, loved the book, or hated it. We checked out some of the books that we LOVED so we could read them outside of class!

On Friday during Power Hour, we went outside. We go outside on Friday if none of our work is missing or late. During that hour, most of us played nine square. Others walked around and enjoyed the nice weather. It was fun!

In History, we learned about the Columbian Exchange. Mr. Boraas explained to us that America had specific products and same with England. We learned what it was like before the Columbian Exchange by only being allowed to trade with the country we were given (England or America). We then learned what it was like during the Columbian exchange by being allowed to trade with everyone! But there was a twist... some of the products that England had were contaminated with Small Pox! Luckily the English had grown immune to it. Same could not be said for the Americans and sadly, some died... :(
This is an image of Mrs. Bradley's advisor group. In advisor time we talk with our advisors about how school has gone for us and if we have any late and/or missing work.

This was our L-Arts class on Thursday of the first week of school. We went outside with a stack of both fiction and non-fiction books. We put them randomly on the path ahead of us and raced each other to get the correct genre. Whoever had the most correct books won. It was very fun!

Week of April 15 and April 22

In history we just finished World War 1. We did a simulation that was about WW1. We got to place troops, start battles, etc. It was a fun time between the allies and central powers.  This is the beloved turkey that hit Mr. Boraas Window On Wednesday. The turkey got a lot of attention that day!!  Officer Clemenson was in the Health room talking to us about vaping, drugs and smoking - we all learned how bad these things are!!

Week of May 6-10

In math we finished our tessellations. The picture above is a picture of our hallway that got filled with some new math filled decorations! In health this week we worked on our Ichabod project and got to present. In the Ichabod project we got to pick if we wanted to make a brochure, a cartoon, a video, song, or a poster.  The whole point of the project is for us students to make a project showing one of our fake peers, Ichabod, all of the dangers and bad things that come and can happen with smoking. In language arts we finished up our final creativity assignment. We all wrote our own books and got to class publish them so that our classmates could read them. In the picture we are peer editing to make sure there are no mistakes. Another thing we did in language was study for our reading terms test. In the picture above we are playing a very fun, interactive, learning game called Kahoot. On Wednesday the whole 7th grade class, including our teachers, wa

April 1 to April 5

These were the March Students Of The Month. From left to right: Sommer Post, Kaleb Lochner, and Avery Brown. This week for language arts we played Grudge Ball. Grudge Ball is game where we are put into teams and each team got 10 x's. Mrs. Bradley would ask a qustion and we had to answer it on the white board. If we got it right we got to erase another teams x or shoot a ball into a basket, and if you made the basket you got to erase two x's. The winner of the game is whoever has the most x's at the end, that team win PBIS points. For history, we are reenacting World War 1.  Each person was given a country. We are not following what our country actually did in World War 1 we making our own stratigies. For art we are making 3-D perspective drawings of landscapes/towns.
