Week of May 6-10

In math we finished our tessellations. The picture above is a picture of our hallway that got filled with some new math filled decorations! In health this week we worked on our Ichabod project and got to present. In the Ichabod project we got to pick if we wanted to make a brochure, a cartoon, a video, song, or a poster.  The whole point of the project is for us students to make a project showing one of our fake peers, Ichabod, all of the dangers and bad things that come and can happen with smoking. In language arts we finished up our final creativity assignment. We all wrote our own books and got to class publish them so that our classmates could read them. In the picture we are peer editing to make sure there are no mistakes. Another thing we did in language was study for our reading terms test. In the picture above we are playing a very fun, interactive, learning game called Kahoot. On Wednesday the whole 7th grade class, including our teachers...

It was for the high schoolers to tell them not to drink and drive. There was a local girl who got in a crash because someone hit her who was intoxicated. This is her car. Week of April 15 and April 22

In history we just finished World War 1. We did a simulation that was about WW1. We got to place troops, start battles, etc. It was a fun time between the allies and central powers.  This is the beloved turkey that hit Mr. Boraas Window On Wednesday. The turkey got a lot of attention that day!!  Officer Clemenson was in the Health room talking to us about vaping, drugs and smoking - we all learned how bad these things are!!

Week of April 8-12

We are giving our presentations in health. For each presentation, the presenter needs to have notes about the symptoms, causes, how it's spread, prevention, long term effects, treatment. Here is a picture of Preston giving his presentation to our class! Connor is giving his speech about Serbia killing Austria-Hungary's Prime Minister. The speech was awesome! (well, not for Serbia) There is Preston giving HIS speech to the Austria- Hungarians. It was a 2 minute-long speech about how they are lying and they are the worst country in the war! (Awesome Speech) Another picture of Preston giving his speech. At this time in the speech he was laughing because he was acting so serious, and he couldn't take it. History class was the best when people gave their speeches to other countries. That is what the map looks like in 1915 for 4th hour. Germany has taken down Russia, and is gaining momentum in the war.   In Language Arts, we are in our creative writing unit.We a...

April 1 to April 5

These were the March Students Of The Month. From left to right: Sommer Post, Kaleb Lochner, and Avery Brown. This week for language arts we played Grudge Ball. Grudge Ball is game where we are put into teams and each team got 10 x's. Mrs. Bradley would ask a qustion and we had to answer it on the white board. If we got it right we got to erase another teams x or shoot a ball into a basket, and if you made the basket you got to erase two x's. The winner of the game is whoever has the most x's at the end, that team win PBIS points. For history, we are reenacting World War 1.  Each person was given a country. We are not following what our country actually did in World War 1 we making our own stratigies. For art we are making 3-D perspective drawings of landscapes/towns.

Week of March 26th-29th

In Language Arts we watched the movie "The Mighty". Inspired by the book "Freak the Mighty", that we read in class. We did a compare/contrast on the book and movie to see what was the same and different.  All the Spring sports are starting their seasons next week. We wish them Luck!!!!!

Week of March 4th

In Language arts we are doing a fun activity to help us with our vocabulary 11 words. In this game you had to write to correct word on the board, then you got to choose if you were going to shoot the ball, or mark off another teams point. It was a fun game. In choir they earned a free day by getting so many marbles in the container so they got to do what  ever they wanted in that class for the day. In band class we got new songs for our spring concert. They are called Grease, and Visions.    It was para appreciation week day this week, so on Monday they decorated the staff break room with streamers and balloons along with food. In health we are finishing up our Self-Esteem unit. As you can see we are taking notes again.  Now it is before the test, and we are prepping for it.

Week of February 25th

This week in Power Hour we worked on school work and also did a class Kahoot. Kahoot is a super fun online website that we have used since 4th grade. It is not only a way to learn, it is also competitive which makes it fun and helps you learn. The Kahoot we did in class was about connotation and denotation, this was also on our Reading Terms Quiz that we had in Language Arts. In Language Arts we had a Reading Terms Quiz and our weekly Reading Log due. We also started a new book called "Freak the Mighty" by Rodman Philbrick.  This is personally one of my favorite books, it is about a very tall teenager named Max who is not is not very smart but very tall and  lives with his Grim and Gram. There is also another character named Kevin who has a disability with his legs and can't walk without leg braces and crutches. The story is about their adventures and the way another person can bring out the happiest and best out of you. In Science this week ...
