Week of September 24

On Tuesday, our school wore red in support of Tyler Holst. He had a heart transplant on September 25th. He is currently in 3rd grade. Tyler is doing great and we are sure he approved of our support.

In Language Arts on Tuesday, we had a snowball fight!! We had several questions written on a paper which we crumpled up. Before we crumpled the papers we answered all the questions but one. Then the snowball fight took action! We threw the balls around for 15 seconds then we scrambled to pick one up. Mrs. Bradley told us to un-crumple the papers and answer the final question. This snowball fight was for our lesson on theme.

In Health, an auction was in progression. Everybody had $2,000 each. They could spend it on any item they found on the sheet of paper handed to them. These things range from going to a successful college to raising happy children. As with all auctions, highest bidder won the item. If you bet all of your money you automatically won the item! It was fun for all!

On Wednesday in Language Arts we did the hashtags activity. To do the hashtag activity, you read a story with a partner, come up with a theme for that story, and write it as a hashtag on a board or some other surface where the rest of the class can see. Some of the hashtags included are: #KeepCalm, #BeKind, #SteryotypesAren'tTrue, and #ListenToOthers.

On Thursday, we had a Vocab Goose Chase! For this activity we got to run around the school finding
examples for the vocab words we were given. The classes were split into five groups. The groups
shown were the winning groups from hours 1,3,5, and 8.
In order to win you had to take the most pictures and match them with the vocab words and
explain your example. It was a very fun way to help us study!

Also on Thursday, our school got free bagels and coffee! That was the highlight of the day!

Preston Ohm ran a 19 minute time during his cross country race this week!!
He was the fastest boy for ZM. Great job, Preston! Way to represent ZM!

Week of May 6-10

In math we finished our tessellations. The picture above is a picture of our hallway that got filled with some new math filled decorations! In health this week we worked on our Ichabod project and got to present. In the Ichabod project we got to pick if we wanted to make a brochure, a cartoon, a video, song, or a poster.  The whole point of the project is for us students to make a project showing one of our fake peers, Ichabod, all of the dangers and bad things that come and can happen with smoking. In language arts we finished up our final creativity assignment. We all wrote our own books and got to class publish them so that our classmates could read them. In the picture we are peer editing to make sure there are no mistakes. Another thing we did in language was study for our reading terms test. In the picture above we are playing a very fun, interactive, learning game called Kahoot. On Wednesday the whole 7th grade class, including our teachers...

Week of February 25th

This week in Power Hour we worked on school work and also did a class Kahoot. Kahoot is a super fun online website that we have used since 4th grade. It is not only a way to learn, it is also competitive which makes it fun and helps you learn. The Kahoot we did in class was about connotation and denotation, this was also on our Reading Terms Quiz that we had in Language Arts. In Language Arts we had a Reading Terms Quiz and our weekly Reading Log due. We also started a new book called "Freak the Mighty" by Rodman Philbrick.  This is personally one of my favorite books, it is about a very tall teenager named Max who is not is not very smart but very tall and  lives with his Grim and Gram. There is also another character named Kevin who has a disability with his legs and can't walk without leg braces and crutches. The story is about their adventures and the way another person can bring out the happiest and best out of you. In Science this week ...

April 1 to April 5

These were the March Students Of The Month. From left to right: Sommer Post, Kaleb Lochner, and Avery Brown. This week for language arts we played Grudge Ball. Grudge Ball is game where we are put into teams and each team got 10 x's. Mrs. Bradley would ask a qustion and we had to answer it on the white board. If we got it right we got to erase another teams x or shoot a ball into a basket, and if you made the basket you got to erase two x's. The winner of the game is whoever has the most x's at the end, that team win PBIS points. For history, we are reenacting World War 1.  Each person was given a country. We are not following what our country actually did in World War 1 we making our own stratigies. For art we are making 3-D perspective drawings of landscapes/towns.
